Mandya: Mandya district police have arrested two persons on charges of chain snatching and house burglary, and recovered stolen property worth Rs 32 lakh from them. SP Shobharani said the accused are Saddam Hussein, 32, of Shantinagar, Mysuru, and Syed Ayub, 32, of Rajiv Nagar, Mysuru. Police recovered 253 grams of gold jewellery, 178 grams of silver articles, and two motorcycles. The case came to light following a chain-snatching incident reported on June 28 last year — at 6.15pm, Saritha, a resident of Malavalli taluk, was walking on the roadside near malavalli taluka was walking on the roadside near Chikkegowdanadoddi village when a motorcyclist approached from the Kirugavalu Santhemala side and snatched her two-strand gold mangalsutra and sped away. Based on her complaint, a case was registered at Kirugavalu police station.
